Senior Software Development Engineer

Senior Software Engineer – Platform Engineering Group Responsible for the growth of our world leading wafer handling and process systems, the Platform Engineering Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team based in Newport, Wales. In this role, you will work with the Software Manager, developing, testing, releasing and maintaining industrial control software using Object‑Oriented Design and Object‑Oriented Programming on Microsoft Windows. Day‑to‑day responsibilities Develop industrial control software using OOD/OOP under Microsoft Windows.

Write, test, and deploy high‑quality code. Document work, including software design specifications, test plans and release notes. Test software on suitable hardware within a multi‑disciplinary team.

Ensure all software meets required standards of safety, quality, performance, and security. Required experience, knowledge & qualifications Senior Software Engineer experience in a technical industry. Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Up‑to‑date with modern software development methods and technologies. Experience with OOD/OOP (JAVA, C++, C#, etc.). Previous experience working in a multi‑disciplined project team.

Understanding of the full software development life cycle. Experience in data analytics and/or AI in a machine controls environment is desirable. Desired personal attributes Excellent logical/analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Strong time‑management and multi‑tasking abilities to meet release timelines. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
