Senior Software Engineer - Java

Role Summary

Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools.
May use common development methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.

Key Responsibilities

To carry out detailed design, code, unit test

To report on progress, planning issues, and problems

To communicate freely with other project members to ensure an efficient and successful project.

To liaise with Product Architect/Design Authority regarding the product functionality & design

To review the work of peers & the Product Architect/Design Authority

Job Requirements

A graduate with at least 5 to 7 years of experience in Core java/ springboot development. Knowledge of microservices architecture.

Essential:

Experience designing and developing the code in Core Java

Experience in Spring boot and basic knowledge in Front-end UI development using Angular, Javascript

Strong presentation and communications skills.

Experience working with remote co-workers is a plus

Self-starters, capable of operating with minimal supervision to solve problems

Excellent problem resolution skills and enjoy technical challenges

Effort estimation and schedule tracking skills mandatory

Desirable:

Experience using AI tolls like Co-pilot

Experience in developing large scaled, high performance, multi-threaded, distributed client/server programming

Experience in shell and Perl scripting

Linux/Unix experience

Experience in an Agile team environment/project

The nature of the role requires a flexible attitude and strong problem solving and research capabilities

Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a multicultural team.

Good oral and written communication skills are required as there will be a need to liaise with staff in other parts of the R&D organisation, staff in Support, Product Management, etc
