Position Overview Our client, a well‑established and growing engineering consultancy, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their Vancouver‑based team supporting hydropower and water infrastructure projects. This role will contribute to a range of projects including dam rehabilitation, new hydropower developments, and other civil infrastructure related to water resource systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering structural engineering solutions across all project phases, from early‑stage concept development through to detailed design and construction support.
This position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team while also contributing to project leadership and mentorship. Further Responsibilities Include the Following Lead and contribute to structural design across hydropower and water infrastructure projects Support project delivery from feasibility and conceptual design through detailed design and construction phases Manage project scope, schedule, and financial performance on assigned projects Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, and client deliverables Act as a technical resource within multidisciplinary teams, supporting integrated project delivery Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate engineers Participate in site visits, inspections, and field investigations as required Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes Support proposal development and contribute to business development activities Ideal Candidate Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering 10+ years of experience in structural engineering within infrastructure, hydropower, or water resource projects Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in BC or eligibility to obtain Robust understanding of structural design principles, codes, and standards Experience working across multiple project phases, including design and construction support Proficiency with structural analysis tools such as SAP2000, MIDAS, or similar software Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Mathcad, and standard engineering software tools Strong communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical documentation Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams Willingness to travel for site work within Canada and internationally Why This Firm Opportunity to work on technically complex hydropower and water infrastructure projects Collaborative environment with strong mentorship and technical leadership Hybrid work flexibility Performance‑based bonus structure with strong track record of payouts Paid overtime, wellness days, and vacation aligned with experience Comprehensive benefits package including retirement savings and wellness initiatives Commitment to sustainability, ESG principles, and long‑term project impact Interested candidates are encouraged to send their resume in Word format to this posting.
