Job Description
Coyne is looking for an experienced Senior Vice President to join our growing healthcare/pharmaceutical practice. Candidates must have an exceptional understanding of pharmaceutical public relations experience at an agency. The candidate must be a big-picture thinker, idea generator, and media relations strategist for multiple client accounts and will also assist in the preparation of RFP responses.
The candidate should be personable, highly motivated, detailed-oriented, an excellent multi-tasker, and comfortable working in a fast-paced open environment.
Agency, Client & Brand Leadership
- Play an active role in new business development, including prospecting, pitch strategy, and presentation leadership
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and introduce integrated offerings across Coyne’s capabilities
- Serve as a senior strategic lead and portfolio director across pharmaceutical companies, brands and products, spanning early-stage, launch, growth, and mature phases
- Develop and guide communications strategies around clinical milestones, regulatory events, product approvals, launches, and post‑launch optimization
- Lead issues and crisis management, working seamlessly with legal, regulatory, medical affairs, and advocacy stakeholders
- Design and evolve advocacy and patient engagement strategies aligned with brand and disease‑state objectives
- Support market development and launch readiness, including disease education, narrative development, and competitive positioning
- Translate complex clinical and scientific concepts into compelling brand stories that resonate with diverse audiences
- Provide senior‑level leadership, mentorship, and guidance to account teams
- Foster strong cross‑functional collaboration across Coyne’s healthcare, corporate, digital, and creative teams
- Ensure excellence in strategic thinking, execution, and client service delivery
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years of healthcare communications experience, with significant depth in pharmaceutical product communications
- Strategic mindset paired with hands‑on execution capability
- Trusted senior counselor with strong client service and relationship‑building skills
- Proven experience managing pharma brands across multiple therapeutic categories
- Demonstrated track record supporting:
- Product launches and approvals
- Market development and disease education initiatives
- Clinical data readouts and milestones
- Strong background in issues management and advocacy development
- Success in leading and/or contributing to new business efforts and growth
- Strong mentorship and development skills among junior team members
