Job DescriptionJob DescriptionGENERAL PURPOSE OF JOBThe Social Service Caseworker provides direct, client-centered services to individuals and families in need, assisting them in addressing immediate concerns while working toward long-term stability. This position conducts assessments, coordinates resources, and delivers assistance in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies and mission. The Caseworker works collaboratively with internal staff and community partners to ensure effective service delivery, maintains accurate documentation, and supports the implementation of social service programs and seasonal initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Provide direct social services to beneficiaries, including intake, assessment, referrals, advocacy, and the provision of material assistance in accordance with established guidelines and available resources.Maintain strict confidentiality of all beneficiary and organizational information in compliance with Salvation Army policies and applicable regulations.Identify client needs and connect beneficiaries with appropriate Salvation Army programs and community resources to support stabilization and self-sufficiency.Maintain and utilize an up-to-date database of community resources to ensure effective and appropriate referrals.Consult with the Social Services Manager or Area Coordinator regarding complex or high-need cases to ensure appropriate resolution and service delivery.Refer individuals seeking spiritual guidance to Corps Officers as appropriate.Support the planning and implementation of social service programs and seasonal initiatives, including but not limited to youth camp, Tools for School, Thanksgiving assistance, and toy distribution programs.Assist with the daily operations of the social services office, including basic administrative functions such as data entry, filing, correspondence, and document preparation.Maintain accurate, timely, and complete case records, including documentation of services provided and client plans.Compile and submit monthly statistical reports and program data as required.Assist in the operation of the food pantry, including distribution, stocking, and adherence to established procedures and guidelines.Collaborate with team members and provide cross-functional support as needed to ensure continuity of services.Participate in and support special events and community activities for Northwest Ohio Area Services and Corps programs.Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational objectives.MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE. Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred in Social Work, Human Services, or related field1–2 years of experience in social services, case management, or a related fieldBasic knowledge of community resources and social service systemsStrong organizational, communication, and time management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn internal systemsValid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as neededCommitment to The Salvation Army’s mission and values Company DescriptionReligious Non-profitCompany DescriptionReligious Non-profit
