Role SummaryAs the subject matter expert in PV solar engineering & design, you'll be a key member of the Engineering Services team in India. Your role will involve close collaboration with the project development, construction and engineering team in the Asia-Pacific regions to assess and comprehend the distinctive pv solar utility scale, floating solar and BESS projects engineering needs of each project. Your primary focus will be on delivering and liasioning related to solar plant design related matters throughout the developmental and construction phases of our renewable energy projects across the portfolio.
ResponsibilityUnderstand utility scale Solar PV(Mandatory) and BESS (optional) Engineering needs of RE project, Grid code compliances and Connectivity requirements.Liaoning with various stake holders EPC, OE and OEMs and govt authorities for all technical matters from concept to commissioning stage.Solar engineering - review of pv plant design deliverables such as calculations, reports and layouts.Be the primary point of contact for all Solar engineering related matters.Design, review specifications, scope of works, RPF, Drawings, and QA/QC aspects for PV solar engineering.Assist with the development and improvement of systems and processes, to maximize efficiency in civil engineering design and costing.Identify Solar-related project risks, organize them within the project risk matrix, and identifying possible risk mitigations.Perform other responsibilities as necessary to support the successful completion of projects.
Functional skills & Job knowledge/experienceComputer literate with good knowledge of MS-office & AutoCAD.Familiarity with use of PVsyst, RatedPower, PV Case, SIFT, PV CAD, Helios 3D, Google SketchUp design and optimization tool.Familiar with Grid code and utility standard - Indian grid code(IEGC), CEA regulation and local/country specific requirements related to power system studies and metering, protection, safety regulations.Familiar with Engineering standards -IEC,EN, BS, IEEE/ANSI, NEC, and NFC & etc. and Local country codes, Safety regulations, Utility standards & etc.Prepare and review of PV plant related Single Line diagram and Schemes such as Key SLD, Protection SLD, Auxiliary system SLD & etc.Review PV plant related Array layout, Cable routing layout, equipment layout, Earthing, Lightning protection, & etc.Preparation and review of BOM, RFP & RFQEstimation and costing of solar project to determine best LCOE using various optimization techniques and value engineering approach.Preparation of technical specifications and review of tender specifications.Sizing/selection of PV module, Combiner box, Transformer, MV/LV switchgear Panel UPS, Battery/Battery charger etc.Calculation of Cable sizing, system Fault current, Power loss, Earthing, Lightning protection system, Lighting/Illumination system.Design & Review of Equipment layouts, SLD/Schemes, General Arrangements (GA) of Indoor/Outdoor Control room drawings.Review of Manufacturers/Vendor/Subcontractors Techno-Commercial Offers, Drawings & Documentations related to the products and services.Understanding of SCADA Architecture/Schemes, Communication Layouts/documents, IO list, Telecommunication, Power Plant Controller, CCTV, Weather Monitoring, Fire Alarm Systems.
QualificationsBE/BTech in Electrical & Electronics engineering from a recognized college/university.6-10 years (min 6 years in Utility scale PV Solar projects).CEng and PE certified (preferred)EPC, IPP & Consultancy background preferred
