Data + BI Engineer:

Role Summary:

We are seeking a talented and versatile Power BI & Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a role designed for a data professional who is passionate about both front-end visualization and back-end data architecture. You will be responsible for translating complex retail data into actionable insights through sophisticated Power BI reports/dashboards while also designing, building, and maintaining the scalable data pipelines that make this reporting possible.

The ideal candidate is a Power BI expert who is equally comfortable writing complex SQL, automating workflows, and working with modern cloud data platforms like GCP and Azure.

Required Qualifications:

• Architect, build, and deploy interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations in Power BI to support critical financial reporting and analysis.
• Develop advanced Power BI solutions using complex DAX measures and sophisticated data transformations in Power Query (M).
• Continuously improve and optimize existing Power BI reports for performance, usability, and evolving business requirements based on user feedback.
• Leverage ThoughtSpot to empower business users with self-service analytics, enabling them to query data intuitively and generate rapid insights.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using cloud services (GCP highly desired:BigQuery, Dataflow, GCS; Azure is a plus).
• Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models to support BI activities.
• Automate data refreshes, report distributions, and other workflows using Power Automate to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS) and user access within Power BI workspaces to ensure data governance and security.

• Essential Data Engineering & Cloud Skills (Must-Have)

Nice to Have:

• Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including complex DAXmeasures and Power Query (M language)transformations.
• Advanced SQLskills, with experience writing complex queries and optimizing performance against large datasets.
• Hands-on experience creating automated workflows with Power Automate.
• Hands-on experience in a major cloud platform (GCPis strongly preferred; Azureor AWSexperience is a plus
• GCP Experience:Big Query, Cloud Storage (GCS), Dataflow, Cloud Composer.
• Strong understanding of data modelingincluding star schema design and optimized semantic modelsalong with ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and scripting for platform automation and integration.
• Experience with other BI or reporting tools, such as Crystal Reports.
• Experience with ThoughtSpotfor self-service analytics.
• Experience with streaming data systems like Kafka.
• Interest or experience in leveraging AI/ML services to enhance BI solutions.
