Job Description
Overview The post will primarily be based at Saint Mary's Hospital with occasional cross-site working required to support service needs. The post holder will provide specialist perioperative care and clinical leadership within the Gynaecology Day Surgery service, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care throughout the surgical pathway. Key Responsibilities Deliver expert care for patients undergoing elective and complex gynaecological procedures.
Support the day-to-day coordination of theatre activity, maintaining patient safety, dignity, and infection prevention standards. Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient flow and theatre utilisation. Act as a clinical role model, supporting and supervising junior staff, students, and trainee ODPs while contributing to teaching, mentorship, and staff development.
Maintain accurate documentation, participate in audit and quality improvement activities, respond to clinical risks and incidents, and ensure compliance with Trust policies, clinical governance standards, and evidence-based practice. Support effective management of resources and demonstrate flexibility to meet the operational needs of the service, including occasional cross-site working. Benefits Career development.
