Job Title: HPE Nimble & Alletra Storage Infrastructure EngineerLocation: Bangalore preferred Role OverviewThe HPE Nimble & Alletra Storage Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for deploying, configuring, operating, and maintaining enterprise-grade HPE storage platforms including Alletra 6000, Alletra MP (B10000 Series), and HPE Nimble arrays. The role involves end-to-end lifecycle management, disaster recovery configuration, replication setup, and vendor coordination to ensure maximum availability, performance, and compliance with service-level objectives. Key ResponsibilitiesHPE Alletra 6000Perform array initialization and onboarding to Data Services Cloud Console.Create and manage hosts, initiator groups, volumes, and volume collections.Monitor capacity, performance, and overall health via UI and CLI.Manage replication protection templates, licenses, and system configurations.Execute OS updates, maintenance tasks, and performance tuning.Coordinate with HPE support for firmware updates, hardware replacements, and SLA management.Configure local/remote replication, implement Peer Persistence and disaster recovery solutions.Execute capacity upgrades and configure Witness servers for Peer Persistence monitoring and failover.HPE Alletra MP (B10000 Series)Perform initial setup, platform onboarding, and lifecycle configuration.Create and manage volumes, hosts, and sets as required for application workloads.Execute OS updates, patch management, and routine operational checks.Liaise with HPE for lifecycle services, proactive support, and contract management.Configure asynchronous/synchronous replication and conduct DR & failover tests.Utilize Peer Motion and Active Peer Persistence for migration and HA use cases.Create and configure Witness servers to support quorum monitoring in HA and DR setups.HPE Nimble StorageHandle initial configuration and setup of HPE Nimble arrays.Manage volumes, clones, and snapshots for production and DR environments.Monitor array health and performance using GUI and CLI interfaces.Coordinate with HPE support for firmware upgrades, incident handling, and SLA tracking.Configure replication (local and remote), plan and execute DR operations.Implement deduplication, encryption, and storage optimization strategies.Manage multi-array groups and pools for scalable performance and reliability.Plan OS upgrades and configure Witness servers for replication failover and HA environment validation.
Required Skills and Qualifications5+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise storage systems (preferably HPE Nimble and HPE Alletra).Strong understanding of SAN/NAS concepts, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and network storage architecture.Experience with HPE Data Services Cloud Console and related management tools.Proven ability to execute replication, DR configurations, and Peer Persistence setups.Proficiency with scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for storage automation preferred.Strong coordination and vendor management skills with focus on SLA compliance and proactive maintenance.Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication abilities.
