Job Description
STORE MANAGER
Reports to: General Manager Status: Entry salary range based on experience.
POSITION SUMMARY: To ensure the highest level of service possible. To ensure smooth daily operations, prompt and friendly customer service, and a well-maintained store. To meet objectives for profitability, labor efficiency and margin. Serves as a member of the Management Team reporting to GM to support achievement. Manages department Supervisor team: Front End Supervisor, Deli Bakery Supervisor, Produce Supervisor, Meat Supervisor, Grocery Supervisor Frozen and Dairy Supervisor, and Backroom Supervisor.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP OF STORE • Effectively and efficiently manage all aspects of store operations based on goals, objectives and standards established by General Manager. • Supervision of department Supervisors including, but not limited to: departmental planning, goal setting, project implementation, and personnel issues. • Ensure compliance of all store personnel with established policies and procedures. • Follow Manager Code of Conduct and Servant Leadership principles to promote team building and motivate staff. • Treat staff and supervisors with consistency and fairness, in a style appropriate to a cooperative work environment. • Ensure that communications are clear, direct, and respectful. • Ensure professional and friendly service from all staff. • Hold weekly store leadership team meetings. • Ensure inventory is timely and accurate.

STORE OPERATIONS • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws: business licenses, permits, health regulations, organic standards, fire code, labor laws, etc. • Ensure smooth flow of store operations on a day-to-day basis. • Ensure appropriate staff coverage to meet demands of customer flow. • Ensures store is well stocked with appealing and abundant sets and displays and fresh products. • Ensures proper store cleanliness and appearance to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with all codes. • Maintain security of building, equipment, inventory, staff and customers • Process paperwork in a timely and accurate manner • Make recommendations to the GM regarding changes in policies and procedures • Perform other tasks as assigned by GM
III. STORE SAFETY, AND SANITATION • Ensure that all managers are aware of security, safety, and emergency procedures and are trained to handle emergency situations. • Ensure security of store property and personnel at all times. • Ensure all departments comply with health department standards.
IV. FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY • Create store financial plan working with GM and Departmental managers. • Execute and monitor store financial plan.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • Significant years of retail store management • Knowledge of current trends In natural foods industry • Familiarity with natural food industry, grocery experience preferred. • Experience setting and achieving business financial goals • Experience serving the public
