Job Description
We are currently hiring a Structural Engineer for a growing multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm based in Stratford, Ontario. This firm specializes in structural engineering, building science, project management, and design services across commercial, industrial, institutional, infrastructure, and residential projects throughout Ontario. Location: Stratford, Ontario, Canada Full-time | On-site Salary: CAD $75,000 – $95,000 About the Role The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, and coordination of a variety of structural projects from concept through construction.
This role requires strong technical expertise, project coordination skills, and the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary engineering environments. Key Responsibilities • Perform structural analysis, design, and engineering calculations for commercial, industrial, institutional, and infrastructure projects • Prepare structural drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documentation using industry-standard software • Develop practical, code-compliant, and cost-effective engineering solutions • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout project execution • Review construction documents and design deliverables to ensure accuracy and quality standards • Support project scheduling, budgeting, and overall deliverable coordination • Conduct site visits, inspections, and provide construction support as required • Ensure compliance with Ontario building codes, engineering standards, and safety regulations • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members when required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline • P.Eng. designation in Ontario required • 5–10 years of structural engineering experience • Strong knowledge of structural analysis, engineering calculations, and design methodologies • Experience working with steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures preferred • Proficiency with CAD and structural design software • Solid understanding of Ontario Building Code requirements and Canadian engineering standards • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative team setting Preferred Qualifications • Experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments • Knowledge of construction administration and field review processes • Client-facing experience and project coordination exposure • Familiarity with BIM/Revit workflows is considered an asset Please note: this opportunity is best suited for experienced P.Eng. professionals.
