Full-time Business Group: DCS Business Line: B&P - Buildings & Places Work Location Model: Hybrid Primary Location: CA - Kitchener, ON - 50 Sportsworld Compensation: CAD 60,000 - CAD 75,000 - yearly Job Description AECOM is looking for a talented Structural Engineering Graduate/Structural EIT to join our growing team in Kitchener, Ontario. This new position is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to launch their career in structural engineering while working on diverse projects ranging from commercial buildings to infrastructure developments. You will work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to the design, analysis, and documentation of structural systems while developing your technical expertise and professional skills. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Buildanalytic and design skills Conduct structural engineering designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems Perform work in accordance with agreed‑upon budget and schedule under supervision Prepare and review of contract specifications including cost estimates and quantities Undertake site inspection of structures within the framework of a prescribed methodology Provide periodic site reviews to monitor a contractor’s performance in construction, including attendance at site meetings, and preparation of site visit reports Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities. Qualifications Minimum Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presenting findings Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from senior professional Preferred Qualifications: Previous internship, co‑op, or practical experience in structural engineering or related field Proficiency in structural analysis and design software including AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, and Revit Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and BIM coordination Excellent technical drawing and documentation skills with attention to detail Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, supported by manual calculations and spreadsheet‑based analysis Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management tools Knowledge of sustainable design practices and green building standards Additional Information Relocation is not available for this position.
