Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummary / ObjectiveThe Construction Superintendent is responsible for the overall field execution of construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract specifications. This role provides on-site leadership, coordinates subcontractors and crews, and maintains strict adherence to quality and safety standards.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, capable of driving productivity while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.Essential FunctionsOversee daily field operations across assigned construction projects from mobilization through closeoutSupervise field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirementsDevelop and execute daily and weekly work plans, including manpower, equipment, and material coordinationEnsure all work meets contract specifications, drawings, and quality standardsMonitor project schedules and proactively address delays or issues to maintain timelinesEnforce compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA and site-specific requirements (e.g., EM-385 for federal projects, if applicable)Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure adherence to job hazard analyses (JHAs) and safety protocolsCoordinate inspections, including preparatory, initial, and follow-up phases where applicableMaintain accurate field documentation, including daily reports, logs, and progress trackingCollaborate with project management to support RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project reportingEnsure proper use, care, and accountability of company equipment and resourcesLead by example, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and high performanceCompetencies & Basic RequirementsMinimum 10 years of construction experience, with progressive field leadership responsibilityProven experience as a Superintendent or similar role overseeing field operationsStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencingAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documentsDemonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage crews and subcontractors effectivelyStrong organizational and time management skills with a sense of urgencyExcellent communication and problem-solving abilitiesCommitment to safety and quality standardsAbility to build strong working relationships and maintain team moraleEducation & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredAdditional technical training or certifications in construction management, safety, or related field preferredOSHA 30 certification preferred (or ability to obtain)Experience with federal/DoD projects (NAVFAC, USACE, etc.) is a plusSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position has direct supervisory responsibility over field personnel and subcontractors.Work EnvironmentWork is performed in both outdoor construction environments and indoor office settingsExposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rainMust be able to adapt to dynamic and fast-paced project environmentsPhysical DemandsAbility to stand, walk, and move around job sites for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as neededAbility to work in uneven terrain and active construction zonesPosition Type / Expected Hours of WorkFull-time positionMust be available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as project demands requireTravelLimited travel may be required depending on project location and operational needs.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementThe Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
