Temporary On-Site Visual Impairment Teacher Consultant
Location: Dearborn, MI
Contract Duration: April 1 - June 12
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

This temporary role offers an opportunity to provide specialized educational services to students with visual impairments in an in-person setting. The position focuses on direct instruction, evaluations, and consultative services within a school environment, supporting students, families, and special education teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments to enhance learning outcomes
• Conduct evaluations to assess student needs and progress
• Collaborate on Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation
• Provide professional development to staff regarding visual impairment strategies
• Assist with assistive technology to support student access and learning
• Serve as a resource for families and special education teams across the region

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Special Education or Education
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, including at least 2 years in Special Education
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Visual Impairment (SK) endorsement
• Approval from the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) as a Teacher Consultant in Deaf & Hard of Hearing

This position requires on-site presence with no remote work option. The schedule is consistent and Monday through Friday during standard school hours.
