A temporary opportunity is available for a Teacher Consultant specializing in Visual Impairment to support students at an on-site school in Sterling Heights, MI. This role runs from April 1 to June 12 with a Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, providing essential services and instruction tailored to the needs of visually impaired students.
Responsibilities include delivering direct instruction and evaluations, offering consultative services, collaborating on Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, and supporting professional development initiatives. The role also involves assisting with the use of assistive technology and working closely with students, families, and Special Education teams throughout Oakland County.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- A Master's degree in Special Education or Education
- A minimum of 3 years teaching experience, including at least 2 years in Special Education
- A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Visual Impairment endorsement (SK)
- Approval from the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) as a Teacher Consultant in Deaf & Hard of Hearing
