Temporary On-Site Visual Impairment Teacher Consultant
Location: Warren, MI
Contract Dates: April 1 - June 12
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

This temporary teaching consultant role focuses on providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments. The position requires on-site presence to deliver direct instruction, conduct evaluations, and offer consultative services aimed at supporting students, families, and Special Education teams within Oakland County.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations related to visual impairment needs
• Support Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation
• Provide professional development to educational staff on visual impairment strategies
• Assist with the integration and use of assistive technology for students
• Collaborate with families and Special Education teams to enhance student outcomes

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master's degree in Special Education or Education
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, with at least 2 years in Special Education
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Visual Impairment endorsement (SK)
• Approval by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) as a Teacher Consultant for Deaf & Hard of Hearing preferred
