We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and energeticPreschool Teacher Assistants to support our 8:1:2 classroom (8 students, 1 teacher, 2 assistants). This classroom setting provides individualized attention and structured support to help young learners thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

The ideal candidate is patient, collaborative, and passionate about early childhood special education.

Details of the Program

• The hours are 8:30-2 Monday through Friday with a half hour lunch break
• The address of the center is 40 Jon Barrett Road Patterson NY

Key Responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities
• Assist in managing classroom routines, transitions, and behavior support plans
• Provide individualized assistance to students based on developmental and learning needs
• Support students with self-help skills (toileting, feeding, dressing, etc., as needed)
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
• Prepare instructional materials and organize classroom spaces
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
• Experience working with preschool-aged children (special education experience a plus)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive in a fast-paced environment
• Must meet state background check and clearance requirements
