Purpose The Technical Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex data to inform business decisions, documenting business requirements, and working closely with various teams to identify, analyze, and resolve data‑related issues. The role may also support the creation of data assets through discovery sessions or building assets to aid data discovery and business decision‑making. Roles & Responsibilities Analyze and interpret large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and identify opportunities for data‑driven solutions. Create and provide governance of SDLC documentation for business users, testers, trainers, and development teams. Assist in the creation of data assets through discovery sessions and define key performance indicators.
Build data visualizations and reports to support data discovery and decision‑making. Develop and maintain documentation of business requirements, data assets, and data processes. Work with data engineering and development teams to ensure proper implementation and maintenance of data assets.
Provide guidance on data analysis and interpretation, helping to prioritize business needs. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analysis and business intelligence. Identify and communicate data quality issues and opportunities for process improvements.
Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders, data engineers, and developers to meet data needs. Required Technical Skills Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI and Power Platform. Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, or R.
Experience with data modeling and data warehousing concepts. Familiarity with cloud‑based data platforms such as Databricks, Amazon AWS, or Microsoft Azure. Strong understanding of data quality and data governance principles.
Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git. Strong technical writing and documentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Education, Certifications & Designations Graduate degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
