What you will be doing
You will create operating instructions, how-to manuals, assembly instructions, and “frequently asked questions” pages to help technical support staff, consumers, and other users within the Enphase ecosystem. After a product is released, you will work with product quality specialists and customer service managers to improve the end-user experience through documentation and/or product design changes. You will work with the product management, engineering, marketing, training, and program management teams to ensure the flow of information among project workgroups during development and testing.
Determine the needs of end users of technical documentation. End users will include certification agencies, PV system designers, EPC firms, PV system installers, test engineers, auditors, customer support agents, field applications engineers and system owners.Study product samples and talk with product designers and developers to create quick install guides and any required operation and installation manualsProvide feedback on products to make them easier to use and thus requiring need fewer instructionsOrganize and write supporting documents for productsRelease documents to the Enphase Document Management System (EDMS) to be included in product packaging at manufactureDevelop and use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users’ understandingSelect appropriate medium for message or audience, such as manuals or online support articles or FAQsStandardize content across platforms and mediaGather usability feedback from customers, designers, and manufacturersRevise documents as new issues ariseFollow Enphase brand and style guidelines for consistent, predictable content creationWho you are and what you bring
Bachelor's degree in area of specialty or at least 2-6 years of experience in the field or in a related areaStrong preference for candidates with an understanding of electrical basics and solar industry experienceExperience as a technical publication’s writer/content developerExpert with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe InDesign & Illustrator, Oxygen XMLSharePoint development and usage skillsEdit the documents with proper grammar check, spell check and follow the editorial standardsStrong writing, editing, and proofreading skillsExperience publishing to multiple platforms including print and webProject management skills, tool familiarity, and extensive software skills are requiredAbility to work with outside of vendors/contractors to bring projects to fruitionAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to understand and communicate concepts quickly and accuratelyAccomplished presentation skillsDesire to continuously learn new features of development tools and softwareHigh attention to detailAbility to prioritize, schedule and meet deadlinesWork both independently and within a teamAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team
