Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our team. The Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various locations in Canada. This role requires a strong understanding of road safety regulations, time management skills, and the ability to handle long‑haul journeys.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, committed to safety, and has a proven track record of dependability. Key Responsibilities: Load and Unload Cargo: Ensure the proper loading, securing, and unloading of goods, adhering to weight limits and distribution requirements. Drive and Operate Vehicles Safely: Safely operate trucks, including tractor‑trailers, ensuring compliance with road and safety regulations.
Plan Routes and Schedules: Follow planned routes and adjust schedules as necessary to meet delivery timelines while adhering to all relevant laws and regulations. Inspection and Maintenance: Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections on vehicles to identify and report any maintenance issues. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, fuel usage, and other relevant documents, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Compliance: Adhere to all provincial, federal, and transportation safety laws, including hours‑of‑service regulations, and report any incidents or violations. Customer Service: Communicate professionally with clients, suppliers, and dispatchers to ensure efficient and courteous service. Qualifications: Licensing: Possession of a valid Canadian Class 1 or Class A drivers license with air brake (Z) endorsement for long‑haul driving (Class 3 or Class D may be required for certain types of trucks).
Experience: Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably in long‑haul transportation. Certification: Completion of an accredited commercial driver training program is an asset. Driving Record: Clean driving record with no major violations, adhering to company and legal standards.
Knowledge: Familiarity with GPS and other navigation tools, as well as knowledge of provincial and national traffic regulations. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy loads, sit for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks. Additional Requirements: Hours of Service Compliance: Knowledge of hours‑of‑service regulations and commitment to maintaining logs to ensure compliance.
Drug and Alcohol Screening: Pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening, as required by federal law for commercial drivers. Professionalism: Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to safe driving practices.
