UNIX Administrator (Australia Shift)

UNIX AdministratorLocation: BangaloreMode: HybridShift: Australia Shift (4:30 AM to 1:00 PM IST) Job DescriptionAdminister, configure, and maintain UNIX systems, primarily HP-UX and IBM AIX Perform system installation, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability Manage LVM, file systems, and disk storage allocation Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies Handle user management, security hardening, and compliance requirements Automate routine tasks using shell scripting kshbash Support high availability and clustering solutions e.g., Service guard, PowerHA Work closely with application, database, and network teams for issue resolution Participate in on-call support and incident management Strong hands-on experience with HP-UX and IBM AIX Solid understanding of UNIXLinux fundamentals Expertise in: LVM Logical Volume Manager File systems JFS, VxFS Networking TCPIP, DNS, NFS Experience with system monitoring tools and performance tuning Proficiency in shell scripting bash Knowledge of backup tools and disaster recovery practices Familiarity with security best practices and OS hardening Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
