Role Overview
Lead end‐to‐end UX research to inform product and design decisions for consumer technology experiences across multiple platforms. Provide research‐driven insights that improve usability, relevance, and overall product quality.
Responsibilities
• Conduct qualitative research: moderated/unmoderated usability studies, concept testing, interviews, surveys, and diary studies.
• Develop study plans, moderation guides, and data‐collection methods.
• Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into clear, actionable reports.
• Evaluate competitor experiences and market trends to inform product direction.
• Measure the effectiveness of UX, communication, and product strategies.
• Collaborate with cross‐functional partners (Product, UXD, UXR, UXW) to define research questions and scope.
Required Qualifications
• B.A./B.S. in Human Factors, Psychology, HCI, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–4 years of UX research experience in consumer technology.
• Strong proficiency with usability studies, concept testing, and end‐to‐end research execution.
• Excellent analytical rigor and ability to connect research questions to study design and reporting.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder‐management skills.
• Ability to prioritize across multiple projects in a fast‐paced environment.
• Experience with tools such as UserTesting, dscout, Qualtrics.
• Demonstrated customer empathy in research interactions and deliverables.
Top 3 Requirements
· 5-7+ years experience with:
o Qualitative research (usability studies, concept testing; moderated & unmoderated).
o Writing study plans and moderation guides.
o Comprehensive analysis and synthesis across multiple data sources.
o Producing clear, effective research reports that answer key questions.
· Broad experience across interviews, surveys, diary studies, and competitive analysis.
· Familiarity with emerging AI‐supported research tools (e.g., Hey Marvin, Dovetail, ListenLabs, Outset).
Typical Day
· Partner with cross‐functional teams to define research questions and scope.
· Plan and run studies end‐to‐end.
· Analyze findings and deliver concise, actionable insights.
· Communicate results clearly to stakeholders and manage expectations around timelines.
· Incorporate feedback throughout the research lifecycle.
Interview Process:
• Up to three rounds with sponsor and hiring team.
• Candidate prep: Bring a presentation with 2+ UX research case studies (portfolio website not required).
