Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCost Engineer (Multiple Openings – 26 Roles) - Great opportunity to get in with a big time company!Location: Auburn Hills, MI Schedule: First shift (may require some schedule flexibility to support global teams) Pay Rate: $43.08/hour We are actively hiring 26 Cost Engineers to support multiple functional areas within a global automotive environment. These roles will focus on developing detailed cost estimates for components and tooling using an activity-based costing approach.This is a high-impact opportunity to work cross-functionally with engineering, purchasing, finance, and supplier teams in a fast-paced, global setting.Functional Areas (Please indicate fit when submitting candidates) Candidates will be aligned to one of the following groups based on experience:Body (CEB) – 5 openingsInterior (CEI) – 6 openingsChassis & Engine Systems (CEC) – 5 openingsPropulsion (P) – 4 openingsElectrical Systems (CES) – 6 openings Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop component cost estimates for new vehicle programsPerform early-phase cost analysis and detailed “should-cost” modelingAnalyze bills of material, drawings, and physical components to determine manufacturing costsSupport design-to-cost initiatives during product developmentPartner with purchasing teams to support supplier negotiations through cost breakdown and gap analysisConduct benchmarking and value optimization activitiesCollaborate with global engineering, finance, and supplier teamsProvide cost comparisons across regions and programs Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in automotive or a related industryStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage a high volume of parts with varying complexityProficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and WordAbility to work cross-functionally across multiple teams and global regions Preferred QualificationsExperience with activity-based costing and cost modeling structuresBackground in one or more of the following:Design EngineeringManufacturing EngineeringTooling / Component DevelopmentPurchasing / Supplier Management What We’re Looking ForStrong analytical mindset with attention to detailAbility to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentCollaborative approach with global teamsCuriosity and drive to understand how components are designed and manufactured Additional NotesMultiple hires will be made across different functional teamsCandidates should be clearly labeled for the specific group they align with when submittedThese roles support global teams, so some schedule flexibility may be required Please apply now - Jared Petrill
