Compensation: $135,000 - 165,000
About the Role:
Reporting to MEDA’s CEO (also President of Fondo Adelante’s Board of Managers), the Vice President will lead and grow Fondo Adelante, MEDA’s CDFI. This includes full oversight of lending activities, capitalization strategy, compliance, technical assistance, and team leadership. The VP will ensure the CDFI aligns with MEDA’s place‑based mission to strengthen Latino communities in the San Francisco Bay Area.
This is a strategic and hands‑on leadership opportunity to scale a high‑impact CDFI with multiple product lines, including small business, affordable housing, and commercial real estate lending.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in‑person leadership at Plaza Adelante HQ (minimum 3 days/week).
- Drive vision and implementation of lending strategies aligned with MEDA’s asset building and real estate programs.
- Oversee all lines of business: microenterprise, small business, affordable housing, and commercial real estate lending.
- Lead new product development, risk mitigation, loan servicing, and marketing efforts.
- Collaborate with CEO, Development, and Finance teams on capitalization strategy, fundraising, and balance sheet growth.
- Manage and grow an 8‑person team; provide clear goals, professional development, and a healthy team culture.
- Direct technical assistance strategies that integrate capital with coaching.
- Partner with MEDA’s Finance and Evaluation teams on compliance, impact tracking, and long‑term growth planning.
- Represent MEDA at local/national events and contribute to fieldwide conversations around equitable capital access.
- Serve on MEDA’s Senior Management Team, contributing to broader organizational strategy and operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, planning, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 8 years in senior lending/finance roles, ideally within CDFIs or non‑profit lenders.
- Experience with small business and/or affordable housing lending.
- Strong staff leadership, product development, and project management experience.
- Familiarity with CDFI compliance, capital sources, and impact evaluation.
- Knowledge of Bay Area land use, economic conditions, and community planning is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with commitment to racial and economic justice.
- Spanish/English bilingualism is desirable.
