Vice President / Deputy Project Executive – Signals & Train Control (Multiple Openings)
We are partnering with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to identify senior leaders for multiple openings within its Construction & Development organization focused on Signals & Train Control systems.
Summary
These roles are responsible for the delivery of complex, large‑scale Communications‑Based Train Control (CBTC) and related rail systems projects across New York City. This includes oversight of critical infrastructure initiatives that directly impact system capacity, reliability, and safety for millions of daily riders.
This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on execution, requiring deep technical understanding of train control systems and proven experience delivering capital projects in complex operating environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of CBTC, signals, and train control capital projects from planning through execution and closeout
- Manage contractors, system integrators, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Drive performance across scope, schedule, budget, and risk
- Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve critical delivery issues
- Coordinate with operating agencies to ensure successful system integration and minimal service disruption
Qualifications
- 16+ years of experience in rail, transit, or infrastructure capital projects
- 10+ years of leadership experience within large, multi‑disciplinary organizations
- Direct experience with CBTC, PTC, or advanced train control systems
- Proven track record delivering complex rail systems or signals projects
- Experience managing contractors, vendors, and system integrators
- Strong command of project delivery fundamentals (cost, schedule, risk, execution)
