VP eCommerce
Location: Scandinavia (relocation, considering candidates across Europe & the UK)
Salary: €160,000 - €190,000 (+ relocation costs)
Job Function:
As the VP of eCommerce, you will lead the global digital commerce team, managing both B2B and B2C operations. Your role is critical in shaping the overall business strategy, driving revenue growth, and enhancing the online customer experience. This position requires a balance of commercial acumen and technical innovation to ensure that all digital touchpoints are optimized for conversion, retention, and user satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a global eCommerce strategy, aligning with business objectives and growth targets across B2B and B2C channels.
- Manage the performance and seamless integration of the eCommerce platform with other technology systems.
- Ensure optimization of technical aspects, including front-end, back-end, API management, security, and performance, delivering a high-quality eCommerce experience.
- Continuously improve traffic, conversion, retention, and acquisition metrics, using data analytics to inform decision-making.
- Work with marketing, sales, and customer service teams to create and implement promotional campaigns, product launches, and sales initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between eCommerce and other business units such as product, marketing, sales, data analytics, and IT, ensuring alignment of priorities.
- Oversee vendor relationships with external partners like payment processors, logistics providers, and other technical service providers.
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals across disciplines such as UX design, web management, operations, and development.
- Foster a results‑driven, high‑performance culture within the team.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of front-end and back-end technologies, including API integration, security, and performance optimization.
- Demonstrated experience in growing eCommerce revenue streams for both B2B and B2C, with a focus on improving customer journeys and conversion rates.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data insights to shape strategy.
- Experience leading and managing large eCommerce teams with both commercial and technical roles.
- Proven track record in optimizing full-stack eCommerce platforms on a global scale.
- Familiarity with eCommerce platforms such as Commercetools, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or similar headless commerce solutions.
- Ability to lead in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and inspire teams to achieve ambitious objectives.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in leadership roles overseeing both technical and commercial eCommerce operations.
- Experience managing large‑scale eCommerce platforms, preferably in high-growth sectors such as technology, fashion, or branded consumer goods.
- Strong project management experience, particularly with large-scale technology transformation projects.
- Strong leadership and management experience with teams of 20+ people.
