Job Description
Production Supervisor
Oxford Solutions is working with a manufacturing client seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead second-shift operations. This position oversees production employees, including welders, and is responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and quality-focused shop floor operations.
The ideal candidate has hands-on welding knowledge, prior manufacturing leadership experience, and a strong understanding of continuous improvement practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily second-shift production activities
- Supervise, coach, and support production employees, including welding personnel
- Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and according to quality requirements
- Monitor production schedules, staffing, capacity, inventory, and workflow
- Enforce established safety, quality, and operating procedures
- Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives
- Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and production process issues
- Coordinate machine setups, changeovers, and routine maintenance activities
- Maintain accurate production information within ERP or MRP systems
- Partner with maintenance, quality, engineering, and operations teams to resolve production concerns
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory, team lead, or production leadership experience
- Welding experience or strong working knowledge of welding processes required
- Experience supervising welders or employees in a fabrication environment preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
- Familiarity with CNC equipment, PLCs, robotics, industrial automation, conveyor systems, tooling, and equipment changeovers
- Experience using an ERP or MRP system
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, industrial engineering, or a related field preferred
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and significant hands-on manufacturing experience considered
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
