Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to analyze financial information, prepare reports, and ensure accuracy in financial processes. This role will play a key part in supporting month-end close, maintaining financial integrity, and collaborating cross-functionally to improve accounting operations. Core Responsibilities Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting Prepare and analyze month-end financial statements, including accruals and expense reviews Research and resolve variances, posting errors, and unusual trends in financial data Support audit preparation and year-end workpapers Collaborate with departments to provide accounting guidance on transactions, projects, and system updates Assist with daily accounting tasks such as journal entries, check runs, and vendor settlements Contribute to process improvements, system implementations, and testing efforts Participate in special projects (e.g., fixed assets, sales tax, incentive programs) Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field) 2–4 years of accounting experience Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Intermediate Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Attention to detail with strong accuracy in financial work Ability to identify issues, research solutions, and recommend improvements Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines As a family business for three generations, we currently employ over 900 associates in 20 locations throughout North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Nebraska.
