Advanced Care Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit

15,000 Sign On Bonus Eligible, 9‑bed unit with private rooms. Full Time, 12‑Hour Days Shifts, Weekend and Holiday rotation.

Job Overview

The Pulmonary Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurses provide high‑quality care for patients experiencing acute medical conditions such as Pre‑ and Post‑Lung Transplant, Pulmonary Hypertension, ventilator dependence/weaning, and special drips. The unit is supported by an Advanced Practice Nurse, multiple physician teams, a multidisciplinary therapy team, and case managers, social workers, physical therapists, dietitians, and pharmacists.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of nursing standards.
• Promote patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educate patients and their families on management of illness or injury, home care needs, and medication administration.
• Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop, implement, and document individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and the patient, family, or caregiver.
• Proactively plan and communicate the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or Nursing Diploma/Associate’s)
• Experience: No experience required.
