Analyst, Metals & Mining, Investment Banking – BMO Capital Markets – Toronto, Canada
Responsibilities- Develop written internal and external marketing on pitch material.
- Support deal teams in development, presentation, and winning mandates.
- Seek to develop an understanding of client needs and outcomes.
- Provide materials to support an outstanding client experience.
- Identify opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service to internal and external clients.
- Provide analytical findings to deal teams.
- Execute strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment between stakeholders.
- Complete quality reports/analyses.
- Research and analyze company and industry financial and operating information.
- Perform complex financial modeling and run valuation analysis as part of client/industry evaluations.
- Create statistical exhibits and financial performance trend analysis for client presentations.
- Apply technical concepts and understand implications of work to client/transaction.
- Develop an understanding of and proficiency in using all required systems and models.
- Provide feedback on, and support continuous improvement opportunities.
- Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and streamlined reporting.
- Deliver financial modeling to support strategic recommendations to clients.
- Consider risk, internal controls and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Work primarily independently;
broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. - Think creatively and propose new solutions.
- Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
- Undergraduate degree with academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting and outstanding academic achievement.
- Financial analysis training and experience preferred.
- 0–2 years of successive relevant experience within investment and/or corporate banking.
- Highly skilled in building complex financial models.
- Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools.
- Skilled in creating statistical presentations.
- Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.
- Verbal & written communication skills – in-depth.
- Collaboration & team skills – in-depth.
- Analytical and problem solving skills – in-depth.
- Influence skills – in-depth.
Base: CAD $100,000. Pay Type: Salaried. Location: Toronto, Canada.
