Role: Application Support Engineer / Developer Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 Per AnnumLocation: Hybrid (Central London)The Opportunity:Our client, a leading organisation specialising in medical imaging technology and clinical research, is looking for a Developer to join its growing technology team.This is a varied position that combines software development with platform / application support, offering the opportunity to work on both a well-established legacy platform and a modern cloud-based application used to support global clinical trials.The role centers around the companies core platform, and providing high level application support in a production environment. Rather than being a purely development-focused role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the reliability and ongoing evolution of business-critical platforms. You'll work closely with developers, technical teams and stakeholders to troubleshoot complex issues, deliver new functionality and help shape the future of the organisation's technology landscape.This role would suit someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working across multiple technologies and balancing day-to-day platform support with longer-term development projects.Key Responsibilities:Platform Support & MaintenanceProvide end-to-end support for both legacy and modern clinical imaging platformsManage and prioritise technical support requests, ensuring issues are resolved efficientlyTroubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues across multiple environmentsSoftware Development & Continuous ImprovementDevelop and maintain scripts to support platform configuration and data managementContribute to feature development across both legacy and cloud-based applicationsIdentify opportunities to improve existing workflows, processes and system performanceCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with development teams to interpret and implement new technical requirementsAct as a technical point of contact for developers, testers and wider internal teamsPromote knowledge sharing and software development best practices across the businessDocumentation & Technical StandardsProduce and maintain clear technical documentationSupport the ongoing evolution of development standards and internal processesWhat We're Looking For:Essential Experience:Degree in Computer Science or related disciplineIn depth experience working within Linux / Unix environmentsStrong scripting experience using Bash and/or PythonExperience working with SQL databasesUnderstanding of object-oriented programming principlesProven experience troubleshooting complex technical issues within production environmentsStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersDesirable:Commercial experience with Java and/or C#Experience working with Microsoft AzureKnowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and Azure DevOpsExperience using Git for source controlFront-end development experience, ideally with ReactUnderstanding of Agile software development methodologiesExperience working with medical imaging technologies or DICOM standardsIf you're a Software Engineer, Developer or Application/Platform Support Engineer with a passion for solving complex technical challenges and are looking for a varied role that combines platform support with software development, we'd love to hear from you.Important Notice:We are expecting a high volume of applications for this role and while we do our best to respond to as many applicants as we can, it isn't always possible to get back to everyone.
