Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Area Director of Business Development to drive growth and expand strategic partnerships across Georgia. This position will focus on developing and maintaining relationships with primary care practices, family care providers, healthcare systems, physicians, and community organizations to increase awareness and appropriate utilization of hospice and palliative care services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to expand the organization's presence throughout the assigned Georgia territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, primary care practices, family care providers, health systems, and community partners.
- Identify and pursue new referral and business development opportunities within the healthcare market.
- Conduct regular in-person visits, meetings, presentations, and outreach with healthcare providers and referral partners.
- Educate physicians and care teams on hospice eligibility, benefits, services, and appropriate patient populations.
- Present the organization's services and value proposition to prospective and existing partners.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of healthcare referral sources and strategic accounts.
- Monitor territory performance, referral activity, business development metrics, and growth opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of sales activities, contacts, meetings, and opportunities within CRM systems.
- Collaborate with clinical, operations, and technology teams to ensure consistent messaging and a smooth onboarding experience for new partners.
- Participate in healthcare conferences, networking events, community events, and other industry activities to increase market visibility.
- Analyze market trends, referral patterns, and competitive activity to identify opportunities for territory growth.
- Consistently achieve or exceed established business development and growth targets.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory for physician visits, practice meetings, and community outreach.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, account management, or relationship management within healthcare services.
- Experience in hospice, palliative care, home health, post-acute care, or a related healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success developing relationships with physicians, healthcare practices, health systems, or other healthcare referral sources.
- Strong understanding of hospice and/or palliative care principles and services.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales, referral, business development, or growth targets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to explain healthcare services and value-based care concepts clearly to clinical and non-clinical audiences.
- Experience using CRM systems and reporting tools to manage business development activities and track performance.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage a territory and prioritize multiple opportunities.
- Ability to work effectively with clinical, operational, and cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel throughout Georgia for field-based meetings and business development activities.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Candidates with experience as a Hospice Business Development Representative, Hospice Liaison, Hospice Community Relations Representative, Home Health Business Development Manager, Healthcare Account Executive, Physician Liaison, Provider Relations Representative, or Healthcare Business Development Manager are encouraged to apply.
