Flexibility, humour and a willingness to go the extra mile are essential for all staff to ensure a high standard of support for all our pupils. You must be a highly motivated practitioner who is able to meet the complex needs of young people who have a history of difficulties within a learning and social environment.

Qualifications Degree in Related Subject essential Post Grad Teaching Qualification essential Any further qualifications in related fields desirable Experience Experience of teaching art essential Experience of differentiating work programmes for pupils essential Experience of monitoring, tracking and analysing Art development essential Experience in working with young people with Special Educational Needs Experience of working with ASC Proven success in preparing pupils for external examinations Knowledge and understanding of ASC Experience/Knowledge Knowledge of the new National Curriculum essential Understand the difficulties of motivating young people with low self-esteem and high anxiety essential Personal Attributes Enjoy working with children and take delight in celebrating progress essential Motivation to work with and support the wellbeing of children and young people essential Ability to form and maintain appropriate professional relationships and boundaries with pupils, staff and external partners essential Emotional resilience in working with children/ young people who may present with behaviours which challenge essential Positive attitude to use of authority and maintaining good behaviour essential Sense of humour essential Willingness to work as a member of a team essential Willingness to take part in extra curricular activities Adaptable and flexible Able to present lessons in an engaging way for pupils essential Able to enhance classroom presentation through use of ICT essential Has held other whole school/management responsibilities Has held responsibility for more than one curriculum area The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
