Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Articled Assistant role based in Chennai. The Articled Assistant will support audit and assurance engagements, including vouching, verification of records, preparation of working papers, and assisting in statutory, tax, and internal audits. The role includes helping with direct and indirect tax compliance, such as return preparation, documentation, and basic tax computations under supervision.
The Articled Assistant will assist in accounting, preparation of financial statements, and documentation for various regulatory filings. Day-to-day responsibilities also include maintaining client files, coordinating with client teams for data collection, and supporting seniors in research, drafting notes, and preparing reports. The role offers hands-on exposure to diverse industries and professional guidance throughout the articleship period.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing Chartered Accountancy (registered with ICAI) and eligible to commence or continue articleship.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, financial statements, and auditing concepts.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and other office productivity tools; familiarity with accounting and tax software is an advantage.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft emails, working notes, and basic reports clearly.
- Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work with numerical data accurately and reliably.
- Willingness to learn, take guidance, and work in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, interact professionally with clients, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Interest in audit, taxation, and compliance, with a commitment to ethical and professional standards.
