Assistant Accountant

A growing healthcare organisation with operations across Ireland and Europe is seeking an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join its expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part‑qualified accountant who wants exposure to month‑end, reporting, audit support, and modern finance systems within a fast‑paced multi‑site environment.

You’ll work closely with senior finance stakeholders supporting financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting activities, and process improvements across the business. The company is investing heavily in finance transformation, automation, and AI‑enabled tools, making this an ideal role for someone with strong systems interest and a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support month‑end close and management accounts preparation.
• Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
• Assist with AP, AR, banking, and financial reporting activities.
• Support budgeting and forecasting process.
• Assist with audit preparation and compliance activities.
• Help improve finance processes using automation and digital tools.
• Maintain accurate financial records and reporting documentation.

Ideal Candidate

• Part‑qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA / CPA or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ finance or accounting experience.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Experience with month‑end and reconciliations.
• Systems‑savvy with an interest in automation and AI tools.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central a plus.
