Assistant General Counsel

The Assistant General Counsel serves as a key member of the Legal Department and is responsible for assisting with the organization's contract administration and legal review functions, with a primary focus on Arizona and California operations. This position will assume ownership California contracts and, over time, transition into oversight of all subcontractor and vendor contract review activities across the organization.

The Assistant General Counsel will support the legal needs of Tetrix by handling the majority of contract drafting, review, negotiation, risk assessment, and legal compliance activities. In addition, this role will serve as the primary legal point of contact for Equitable Housing Construction Partners and provide legal guidance to business leaders on contractual, regulatory, and operational matters.

Arizona & California Legal Oversight

• Act as the legal subject matter expert for California contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and advise leadership regarding changes in California laws affecting construction, employment, procurement, risk management, and commercial operations.
• Ensure contracts and business practices comply with applicable Arizona and California statutes, regulations, and licensing requirements.
• Advise operational teams on state-specific legal risks, contract provisions, and compliance obligations.

Qualifications

Required

• Active California Bar License in good standing is required.
• Licensed to practice in Arizona.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of legal experience.
• Strong working knowledge ofArizona and California contract law and construction-related legal issues.
• Experience negotiating and managing high-volume contract portfolios.

Preferred

• Preferred expertise in construction, commercial contracts, subcontractor agreements, and vendor contracts.
