We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Chartered Accountant to lead our finance operations and ensure robust financial governance across our manufacturing, retail, and export divisions.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 4+ years of post-qualification experience to join our Finance Department as an Assistant Manager. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in statutory compliance, statutory audits, taxation, and financial reporting, with a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape governing the gems and jewellery sector in India.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Statutory Compliance & Audit
- Lead and coordinate statutory audits, ensuring timely completion and strict adherence to auditing standards.
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements and related disclosures in compliance with Ind AS / Indian GAAP.
- Manage all regulatory filings, including ROC compliance, MCA filings, and other statutory obligations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with Income Tax, GST, TDS, and other applicable tax laws; oversee preparation and filing of tax returns.
2. Financial Reporting & Controls
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Prepare management accounts with detailed variance analysis and performance commentary for senior leadership.
- Maintain robust internal financial controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning cycles.
3. Treasury & Operations
- Monitor working capital and cash flow requirements specific to jewellery manufacturing and trading operations.
- Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation, including precious metals, diamonds, and gemstones.
- Ensure compliance with RBI regulations applicable to the gems and jewellery sector (e.g., FEMA, export obligations).
- Coordinate with banks and financial institutions for fund-based and non-fund-based facilities.
- Manage bullion and precious stone procurement financing and hedging strategies, where applicable.
4. Team Leadership & Process Improvement
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior accounting staff.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive finance policies, SOPs, and process documentation.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Chartered Accountant (CA) from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)
Experience
4+ years of post-qualification experience in compliance, statutory audit, and financial reporting
Industry Exposure
Experience in manufacturing, retail, or gems & jewellery sector preferred
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Ind AS, Indian GAAP, Income Tax, GST, and TDS provisions; working knowledge of commodity hedging for gold and silver, including forward and futures contracts
Audit Experience
Proven track record of managing statutory audits and liaising with external auditors
Software Proficiency
Advanced MS Excel; experience with Tally ERP / SAP / Oracle or similar ERP systems
Soft Skills
Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, and strong written & verbal communication
Leadership
Experience in team supervision and mentoring junior staff
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- In-depth knowledge of commodity hedging strategies for gold, silver, and other precious metals, including forward contracts and futures-based price risk management
- Experience in financial consolidation and handling group company structures
- Familiarity with SEZ/EOU operations and export-oriented business compliance
- Knowledge of valuation methodologies for precious metals, diamonds, and gemstones
- Exposure to cost accounting and transfer pricing regulations
- Experience with RBI's Gold Monetisation Scheme or related jewellery sector schemes
- Knowledge of hallmarking regulations and BIS compliance for jewellery.
