ROLE SUMMARYMaterial Planning & supplier management plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective management of materials required for manufacturing and operations.
This position involves analysing material requirements, managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet production goals and customer demands.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of supply chain processes to optimize material availability and minimize costs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Material Planning and supplier Management:Analyze Supplier schedules wrt production requirement to ensure 100% release accuracy.Develop and maintain critical material long term plans to support production schedules.Monitor and optimize inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely material readiness, Promise date confirmation & shipment executions.Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues to maintain high service levels.Work closely with cross functional team to mitigate supplier long term issue.Partner with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.Support new product introductions and engineering changes by managing material transitions.Data Analysis and Reporting:Analyze data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement.Prepare and present performance metrics and inventory reports to management.Process Improvement:Identify and implement best practices for material planning and inventory control.Develop and refine policies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.Participate in or lead projects aimed at enhancing supply chain performance.
Role Specific Qualification / Certification RequirementMandatory Desired:Bachelor's degree in supply chain management / business administration / engineering.5+ years of experience in material planning, inventory management roles within a manufacturing environment.Suitable/ Optional: Role Specific knowledge, Skills and ExperienceMandatory Desired:Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) and advanced Excel skills.Proficiency in Import material planning and supplier handling.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and techniques is a plus.Suitable / Optional:Role Specific Behavioural Skills Mandatory Desired: Team Collaboration, Innovative, problem solving, good communication skills.Suitable / Optional: Focussed, PDCA Approach.
