Job Description
Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology, Epilepsy Division at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, is a full‑time clinical faculty position.
Qualifications
- Medical degree and board certification or board eligibility in neurology.
- Active Florida medical license, DEA certificate, and BLS certificate.
- Neurology residency training or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients with epileptic diagnoses and symptoms in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Interpret magnetic resonance imaging and other radiological studies for patient evaluation.
- Rotate with a neuro‑radiologist as required.
- Interpret electroencephalography (EEG) studies.
- Serve on the EEG reading panel.
- Teach fellows how to read adult EEG studies.
- Design and conduct clinical research and clinical trials, and participate as investigator in multi‑center clinical trials.
- Organize and moderate journal clubs.
- Publish articles in peer‑reviewed journals.
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows one‑on‑one or in lecture‑hall settings, and assist Neurology chief residents with the epilepsy curriculum.
- Present research materials at local or national neurology meetings.
- Participate in divisional, departmental, school, and university committees and initiatives.
