About the Role
The Assistant Professor of Sociology will be responsible for teaching, research, academic leadership, and service activities in the discipline of Political Science. The role involves delivering high-quality instruction, conducting impactful research, mentoring students and faculty, and contributing to the academic growth and reputation of the university.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Teaching and Curriculum Development:Deliver lectures, conduct seminars, and manage laboratory sessions for students.Develop course materials, curricula, and innovative teaching methods.Assess student performance through exams, assignments, and presentations.Research and Scholarly Activity:Conduct original research and publish findings in peer-reviewed academic journals.Apply for research grants and secure funding.Present research papers at conferences and seminars.Mentorship and Student Support:Mentor, advise, and counsel students on academic progress and career development.Supervise student projects, theses, and practical training.Service and Administration:Participate in departmental and university committees (e.g., hiring, policy development).Participate in examination duties, including paper setting and invigilation.Contribute to departmental administration and organization of events.
QualificationsPh.D. in Social Work/ Sociology discipline from a recognized universityA distinguished academic record with minimum experience of 4 yearsStrong record of research publications in reputed journalsExperience in teaching at postgraduate and doctoral levelsExperience with NGO and related field work.
