- Centralize Go‑to‑Market operational tasks across business units.
- Standardize best‑in‑class capabilities, strengthen global support, and implement a better vertical reporting structure.
- Define ways of working, bringing clarity on interactions across GBUs, Digital, and Commercial execution support teams.
Role Overview
The Associate Director, Market Research – Systemic Mastocytosis (SM) will be a key member of the Insights and Analytics team, responsible for providing market and customer insights primarily through the execution of market research to help drive key strategic and tactical decisions across Sanofi. The role reports to the Director, Insights & Analytics – Systemic Mastocytosis (SM) and will be based in Cambridge, MA or Morristown, NJ.
Main Responsibilities
- Orchestrate a highly relevant insight agenda for the US Systemic Mastocytosis business; proactively identify needs and recommend effective solutions.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the US Commercial team, leveraging external context and customer needs.
- Support standard US Commercial business processes such as performance tracking, forecasting demand, and alignment of competitive insights.
- Develop strong partnerships across a matrixed internal environment including US Commercial, the Insights & Analytics Team, and Global.
- Collaborate with the Insights vendor community to design, execute, and report market research studies that deliver actionable insights.
- Manage projects, driving collaboration between internal and external teams from vision through fieldwork and reporting.
- Communicate data and insights clearly and concisely, focusing on customer needs with actionable recommendations.
- Operationalize insight workstreams on time, within budget, and compliantly.
- Serve as an insights subject‑matter expert, leading and developing colleagues where applicable.
About You
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, MD, PhD) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech market research.
- Strong primary market research capabilities with knowledge of quantitative, qualitative, and agile approaches.
- Excellent project management skills; proven ability to lead multiple workstreams compliantly and timely.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with deep understanding of the life‑sciences industry.
- Knowledge of secondary/syndicated pharmaceutical data sources including prescription data, patient claims data, and promotional audits.
- Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on US Commercial launches, preferably with 2+ years focused on Rare Disease, Immunology, or Oncology.
- Experience working with New Product Planning, Marketing, Value & Access functions.
- Vendor management experience in the insights/market research space.
