Job Description
HITS Theatre provides high-quality performing arts education for children of all experience levels through classes, productions, and professional training in acting, singing, dance, and production. Position Overview
The Associate Director of Education is responsible for implementing educational programs and theatrical productions for K-12 students, on- and off-site, and supporting education staff. This position reports to the Director of Education.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Director of Education to develop and implement educational programs and curriculum that aligns with industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure integration of educational programs with other organizational initiatives.
- Develop and implement outreach educational programs and performances to schools and other organizations.
- Support education staff, including teachers, instructors, and administrative personnel.
- Ensure a vibrant and safe internship program is implemented.
- Direct productions and teach classes as delegated by the Director of Education.
- Perform other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
- A minimum of three years of related work experience preferred.
- Interest and background in performing arts and performing arts education.
- Familiarity with the theater industry and school regulations and standards.
- General knowledge of standard stage production and direction.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven organizational skills, with strong ability to work independently and with others, and to perform under pressure.
- Ability to interact with the public and work collaboratively with diverse constituencies.
- Organized and accurate, with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
