Associate HR Business Partner The closing date is 23 June 2026 We are excited to offer an opportunity for an aspiring or developing HR professional to join our team as an Associate HR Business Partner in a supported development role at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an ideal position for someone who is ready to step into a more strategic HR role, with structured support, mentoring, and development , enabling you to grow into a fully‑fledged HR Business Partner within a busy acute hospital environment. Working as part of a forward‑thinking People & OD Directorate, you will provide support to a dedicated division in delivering a high‑quality, proactive HR service supported by a People Advisor.
This role is designed with development at its core . You will: Gradually build your experience in strategic partnering Be supported to lead on increasingly complex workforce initiatives Receive coaching and mentorship from experienced HRBPs and senior leaders You will play a key role in helping services deliver safe, high‑quality patient care by ensuring they have the right people, skills, and culture in place. Main duties of the job Partner with Divisional teams, supported by a People Advisor, to provide expert HR support and advice Support organisational change programmes, including restructures and service redesign Contribute to workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and talent initiatives Use workforce data to identify trends and support evidence‑based decision making Work collaboratively across People services (ER, Recruitment, OD, EDI) Coach and support managers to build confidence and capability in people management Benefits and Development Structured onboarding and development plan tailored to your experience Regular supervision and mentoring from a Senior HR Business Partner Opportunities to shadow, lead, and learn across a range of HR specialisms Access to leadership and professional development programmes Exposure to strategic projects and Trust‑wide initiatives We want to invest in your growth and support you in progressing your HR career within the NHS.
About you Strong foundational HR experience Ready to take the next step towards a strategic HR role CIPD Level 5 (working towards Level 7 or equivalent experience) Experience in an HR advisory role within a complex organisation Sound knowledge of employment law and HR practice Experience managing employee relations cases Strong communication and interpersonal skills A genuine commitment to learning and professional development Experience within the NHS or public sector Understanding of Agenda for Change terms and conditions Experience supporting change or transformation initiatives Curiosity, resilience, and a proactive approach to learning About us The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics. The safety and well‑being of our patients and staff is paramount, and we are making urgent improvements to address this – particularly in infection prevention and control.
