Automotive Technician

Pickering Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ltd. is seeking four (4) skilled and dependable Automotive Mechanics to join our fast-paced service team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive, commercial transport truck, and truck-trailer systems. If you have a sharp eye for detail, strong manual dexterity, and a commitment to quality workmanship, we want to hear from you.Key Responsibilities:Diagnostics & Testing: Inspect mechanical units, run diagnostics on automotive systems, and conduct road tests to identify underlying faults.Repairs & Maintenance: Adjust, overhaul, or replace components across automotive, commercial, and truck-trailer systems according to manufacturer specifications.Routine Service: Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and test repaired systems to confirm peak operating performance.Collaboration & Communication: Interpret work orders, confer with supervisors on repair strategies, and maintain accurate service documentation.Customer Interaction: Walk clients through completed repairs and highlight recommended future maintenance.Qualifications & Requirements:Education: Trades certificate or diploma in automotive mechanics technology.Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional automotive repair experience.Certifications: Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification or Red Seal endorsement required.Background Checks: Must pass a criminal record check and supply a clean driving abstract.Licensing: Valid drivers license required.Gear: Personal tool set and steel-toed safety boots required.Work Environment & Physical Demands:Fast-paced shop requiring strong hand-eye coordination and precision.Capability to stand for long shifts and perform physical tasks requiring manual dexterity.Core attributes: Dependable, reliable, and punctual.Compensation & Benefits:Comprehensive Healthcare: Includes dental, vision, extended health coverage, and paramedical services.Financial Protection: Access to group insurance, life insurance, and disability benefits.Incentive Pay: Competitive hourly base rate supplemented by piece-work earnings.Eligibility:Open strictly to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or individuals holding a valid Canadian work permit.
