Clearance Required: Secret (preferred) or ability to obtain base access Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pmDuration: 10 weeks (Full-time, 400 hours total)Enrollment Date: Continuous GC Associates (GCA) Company Website: http://www.gcassociates-usa.comGC Associates is offering a 10-week SkillBridge internship opportunity for transitioning service members interested in gaining real-world experience in the Audio-Visual (AV) and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) industry. As an AV/VTC Infrastructure Technician Intern, you will work alongside experienced professionals supporting commercial and DoD projects.
This hands-on role provides structured learning through site visits, mentorship, and industry-recognized online training modules.Duties and Responsibilities Assist with AV and VTC system installations, maintenance, and system testingPull, label, dress, and terminate cabling (Layer 1 infrastructure tasks).Participate in daily system operations and troubleshooting at federal sitesSet up mock systems in the lab for testing, configuration, and documentation Complete company orientation, safety training, and AV fundamentals modules Work in compliance with base access procedures, site safety, and contractor standardsAttend live VTC events and gain experience with AV system support and operationsParticipate in certifications and e-learning through AVIXA, Kramer, Extron, Dante, and more.Learning ObjectivesGain foundational knowledge of AV industry standards and tools that can support future employment in the AV industryUnderstand the operation of VTC systems and network-based AV componentsDemonstrate basic technical skills in Layer 1 infrastructure (cabling, connections, equipment)Build familiarity with AV system integration in federal environmentsWork under supervision of experienced AV professionals and receive real-time feedbackAccess to industry-recognized certifications and training modulesProgram Details:Duration: 10 weeks / 400 hoursInstruction Format: On-site fieldwork, live internships, and structured e-learningEvaluation: Based on attendance, technical progress, safety practices, and professional behaviorCertifications (Optional): Access to AVIXA Essentials, Extron Associate Certification, Kramer AV/IP training, Audinate Dante Level 1, and moreNote: This position is unpaid and intended for active-duty service members eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program.
