Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) Inspector/Maintainer is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, testing, repair, and documentation of aviation survival and safety equipment. This role directly supports aircrew survivability and mission safety by ensuring all life support systems meet regulatory and operational standards. ALSE personnel operate as safety-critical professionals and maintain strict compliance with applicable technical manuals, manufacturer instructions, and agency directives.Key ResponsibilitiesInspect, maintain, test, and document life support equipment including survival vests and harnesses, rafts and flotation devices, emergency oxygen systems, flight helmets and protective gear, and survival kits and signaling devicesPerform scheduled and conditional inspectionsMaintain calibration and testing equipmentTrack serialized equipment and inspection intervalsEnsure compliance with safety bulletins and technical directivesMaintain accurate maintenance records and inspection logsSupport audits and safety evaluationsProvide user training or familiarization when requiredCoordinate with supply and logistics for parts and consumablesQualificationsMilitary or civilian ALSE certification/training required3–5 years ALSE maintenance experience preferredKnowledge of survival equipment inspection intervals and documentationStrong attention to detail and regulatory compliance disciplinePreferred experience working on USCG aircraftAbility to obtain/maintain required security clearanceWork EnvironmentHigh-visibility operational environment with increased coordination and compliance requirementsWhy VLincAt VLinc, we understand that aircrew survivability begins with the professionals who maintain life support equipment.
