Job Description
Help shape a greener, more sustainable Banyule through hands‑on biodiversity programs.
Join Banyule's Bushland Management Team and make a meaningful contribution to local biodiversity conservation. In this role, you'll provide administration and project support for key environmental programs, including Gardens for Wildlife and Spring Outdoors, while helping deliver community engagement and education initiatives with residents, schools, volunteers and Friends groups.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support key biodiversity programs, including Gardens for Wildlife, Spring Outdoors and Council's Indigenous Plant Voucher Program.
- Support the delivery of community, school‑based and volunteer programs that build environmental awareness, stewardship and participation.
- Support citizen science initiatives and strengthen Council's Environmental Friends Groups and volunteer networks.
- Work collaboratively across Council and with external partners to support biodiversity, urban forest and environmental strategy outcomes.
- Contribute to the planning, promotion, administration and continuous improvement of environmental programs and events.
Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications in environmental management, natural resource management, environmental science or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting or delivering environmental, sustainability or community‑based programs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work with community groups and internal partners.
- Good project, time‑management and analytical skills, with a collaborative approach to achieving team outcomes.
Pre‑employment Requirements
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC).

- A Permanent, full‑time position.
- Salary range $80,897.37 to $93,686.65 per annum plus super (dependent on experience).
- 26 weeks of paid parental leave – primary carer / 4 weeks of paid parental leave – partner.
