Business Development Officer The Business Development Officer plays an important role in supporting the Partnerships team. Reporting to the Manager, Partnerships, this role contributes to both the administrative and business development functions of the team. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing team focused on building meaningful corporate partnerships that advance awareness, inclusion, and philanthropy in support of Holland Bloorview.
This role is hybrid in nature, with a combination of “work‑from‑home” and “on‑site as‑needed” for in‑person tours, events, team‑building activities etc. Benefits Compensation: $17.60 per hour. Employee will receive an additional 4% in lieu of vacation and paid statutory holidays.
Contract: June to August 2026. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Prospecting Conduct research to identify and evaluate new corporate partnership opportunities aligned with organizational priorities Build and maintain prospect lists, including key contacts, to support outreach and pipeline development Support the preparation of outreach materials, including email drafts, proposals, and pitch decks Assist with prospecting and early‑stage outreach to potential partners, including introductory communications and follow‑ups Track and update partnership activity in the CRM/database to support pipeline management Partnerships & Team Support Provide administrative support to the Partnerships team, including scheduling meetings, booking internal and external meetings, and coordinating logistics Assist with booking and coordinating site tours for prospective and existing partners Support invoicing processes, including preparing invoices, tracking payments, and maintaining accurate financial records Attend meetings, events, and partner engagements as appropriate, providing on‑site support as needed Stewardship & Relationship Management Support the creation of customized impact reports and stewardship materials for partners Conduct thank‑you calls and assist with ongoing donor recognition effort Eligibility Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning.
Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred. International students and those with temporary visitor, work visa, or refugee status ruling are not eligible. Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Qualifications Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post‑secondary program in Business, Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and assess new partnership opportunities. Robust written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft effective emails, proposals, and presentations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with CRM or database systems is considered an asset. Strong interpersonal skills and a customer‑service mindset, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Comfortable with administrative tasks, including scheduling, logistics coordination, and financial tracking (e.g., invoicing).
