Roles & Responsibilities
- Team leadership: Supervise and lead a team of seasonal employees, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging teamwork.
- Customer satisfaction: Ensure our guests receive exceptional service and enjoy their time with us.
- Operations management: Oversee the daily operations of the 1872 Café, Lakeview Café, and Ice Cream Kiosk, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Stock management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, order supplies, and conduct regular stock checks.
- Act as deputy: Step in for the Catering Manager when they are absent, taking responsibility for shifts and overall operation.
- Innovation: Help implement new ideas for menus, promotions, or services that enhance the visitor experience and align with our values.
- Food safety & hygiene: Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations, including allergen management and staff training.
- Duty manager role: Occasionally act as a Duty Manager for the Aquarium, overseeing the safety, security, and smooth running of the entire facility.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within catering or hospitality is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
- A proactive and positive attitude, with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate is desirable or a willingness to obtain it).
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and during peak periods.
This is a salaried, permanent position at £25,947.
