Work Authorization: Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States Why This Role Exists This contract role exists to support ongoing military and commercial aerospace programs requiring precision lathe machining of large, complex components. Barnes Aerospace is seeking experienced CNC lathe machinists who can confidently machine tight-tolerance aerospace parts while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Work You'll Be Doing In this role, you will: Set up and operate CNC lathe machines in a precision aerospace environment Run multiple machines simultaneously where feasible within machining cells Machine large aerospace components ranging from 30" up to approximately 70" in diameter Work with hard metals including Inconel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel Read and interpret customer blueprints, specifications, and internal process sheets Read and interpret CNC programs directly at the machine Use Fanuc controls, including making offsets as required by the program Load parts onto fixtures and safely operate hoists for material handling Read tool sheets and set up tooling for production jobs Utilize precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and part quality Work with right-angle heads as required Apply GD&T knowledge to consistently hold tight tolerances (thousandths) Support additional tasks as assigned by department leadership Machines, Controls & Equipment You'll work with equipment such as: Machines: CNC lathes and turning centers Controls: Fanuc Inspection Tools: Gauges, swing gauges, calipers, micrometers Equipment: Hoists, fixtures, right-angle heads Materials You'll Work With Inconel Titanium Stainless Steel Aerospace-grade alloys What We're Looking ForRequired 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment Strong CNC lathe / turning experience Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T Experience machining tight-tolerance aerospace components Experience using Fanuc controls and making offsets Ability to read and interpret CNC programs at the machine Strong math skills and ability to use precision measuring tools Ability to safely load and handle large components using hoists Ability to stand for extended periods and climb machine platforms as needed Team-oriented mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Willingness to work overtime as required Preferred (Not Required) Aerospace machining experience Experience supporting major aerospace OEMs such as Pratt & Whitney, GE, or Rolls-Royce Familiarity with right-angle heads and large-part machining Why Machinists Like Working Here Machinists choose Barnes Aerospace because: $45/hr + $150/day per diem (7 days/week) Strong total compensation package for contract machinists Opportunity to machine large aerospace components Stable aerospace production environment Advanced equipment and precision work Team-focused culture centered on quality and craftsmanship Pay, Contract & Schedule Pay Rate: $45.00/hour
